Open a browser on your computer and head over to the Google Photos website. Log-in to your account if you are not already. Step 2. Step 3. Then the image opens in the preview mode, right-click on the image and choose the option that says Save Image As. It will let you save the chosen image to your computer.
You are all set. You can then open this image in any of the image viewers available on your machine as JPG is a widely supported format. When you download and view the image on your computer, one thing is clearly noticeable.
Your downloaded image is not of the same resolution as your original HEIC file. This is because your browser has only saved the preview copy of the image on your computer. Zoom all the way out and then right-click on the image and choose Save Image As.
Your image will be downloaded in its original resolution on your computer. If you are facing issues with the above method or if you are unable to get your HEIC photo in full resolution, you have another method available to accomplish the task.
To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I need to free up space on my phone. Most of my photos are live. I plugged my phone in, opened "photos" on my mac, imported everythign I wanted, then dragged it into a folder on my hard drive.
All of the live photos were made into regular jpegs. When I send them back to my phone or try to view them on my computer, they are flat jpegs. Posted on Dec 22, PM. Page content loaded. A live photos has two pieces - a still photo and a short video and must be processed and viewed with Photos on a Mac or an IOS device to work - when you move it to disk or edit it with other software you no longer have a live photo - to keep it as a live photo keep it in the Apple enviorment.

I'm using a mac. The only way I've found to get files off of my iPhone is photos on mac. And I don't have the option to get the broken down file you have above.
